Scents, Shopping and Baby Jewelery

The Mall at Millenia Orlando Florida

Today is the BIG SALE day at one of my favorite stores Bath and Body Works. If you love all things that smell good you must go check it out. My favorite scents right now are Cherry Blossom, Sweet Pea, and Fresh Cucumber. I have the Sweet Pea hand lotion in my purse along with the Cherry Blossom Antibacterial Gel. I had to go check out 5 for $15 sale so, I picked up one Sweet Pea Antibacterial foam, One Cherry Blossom Antibacterial foam both purse size. In addition to those I bought 3 of the sink size antibacterial foam hand soap, in you guessed it Cherry Blossom, Sweet Pea and Fresh Cucumber. I just love the fresh smell of all three of these scents. I have been stocking up on the small purse size so I can take them to china with us.

What are your favorite scents?

Something else that I saw while I was in the mall were lots of moms with kids school shopping (school starts here a week from Monday). I thought about what shopping is going to be like when we have Sophia. My best friend Lisa and I take her girls out about once a month on a "girls day" we usually end up at the mall shopping. We always have a good time and in fact we are way over do for a "girl day". I can't wait until we have Sophia and she will join us for those shopping days.

One more thing, I am thinking about a gift for a friend and want it to be special. I wandered into Things Remembered just to take a look at what they had. Now here is the question, How do you feel about baby jewelry? I am not sure really how I feel. I like small earrings of course. I can remember being a child and having "Baby Jewelry" a baby ring, bracelet, and a small chain with a cross. This jewelry was only worn on special occasions like Christening and Holiday pictures. It always was taken off and put back into the velvet jewelery box as more of a keepsake then something to be worn on a regular basis.

So what do you think Yes or No for baby jewelry?

Susan,

Hi!! I can't wait to get to Bath & Body to get those new foam hand sanitizers for my purse!! I'm going tonight. I love the Cucumber Melon (it's my favorite). I also like Sweet Pea, Black Raspberry Vanilla, Warm Vanilla Sugar, Peach...oh, and the new Pineapple smells REALLY good!!

School shopping...I am looking forward to it so much. When we were on our way home from Canada yesterday we stopped at a Target and as we walked past the school supplies we saw a mother with her two Asian daughters (who were apparently adopted) and another mother with two daughters from Guatamala. I thought of Hope right away and how fun it will be to pick out a backpack, folders, etc. (Although I don't want her to grow up that fast....I want to enjoy the baby stuff first!!)

As far as jewerly. I'm not one for piercing ears when they are babies. I know alot of people that have done it and I don't see anything wrong with doing it, and it looks really cute...it's just not something I would do. As far as bracelets and necklaces, I agree they are nice for special occasions and to save as a keepsake.

Love ya,
Cheri

First of all, is that your local mall? How nice!! Ours is really bad compared to that LOL!! It looks really nice.

I also love Bath and Body. I am so glad they are coming out with these new hand sanitizers. My favorite is sweet pea and I love the tropical passion fruit as well. I like the fruity scents. I don't like florals very much - they tend to give me a headache.

I too am looking forward to school shopping with Hannah. It was such a fun experience when I was little and i can't want to get excited about it with Hannah!! It will be like doing it all over again.

I too had the "special" jewelry when i was little. I only wore them on picture days or holidays, etc. I really think I want to get Hannah's ears pierced when she is little just to get it over with. I hope to get Hannah some "special jewelry" - that is something I need to think about doing soon.

Thanks for the fun topics :)

OK Kim first of all that is a mall close to us just not the one I went to today. That mall is GREAT! and our favorite mall to go to. That is one of the best things about Florida we have really good malls. LOL.....

It is funny we all like the same scents who would have thunk it LOL...

I am going to have Sophie's ears pierced as soon as possible just so that the trauma (to me) will be reduced LOL I know she will be fine.

Cheri I am with you on enjoying the baby stuff as long as possible. I know I am going to want to keep Sophie a baby as long as i can. :)

Susan,

I agree, it probably would be less traumatic to get Sophia's ears pierced while she was young. The reason I said I wouldn't probably do it, is because I remember how excited I was when my mom took me to get my ears pierced and I am really looking forward to sharing that with Hope. Maybe a day of shopping, lunch and then getting her ears pierced. But who knows...I might change my mind because they really do look cute when they are little and they have earrings!! :)

LOL...sorry I didn't mean to change your mind!! I can just see it now. A day of shopping (spoiling Hope of course), lunch (just us girls) and then I can just picture Hope running up to her daddy when he gets home from work, with a big smile on her face and filled with excitement to show him her new pierced ears!! LOL (I know, I'm a dork)

okay - am I the only one nervous about getting Hannah's ears pierced. I get squeemish just at the thought of holding her and knowing she is gonna go through the pain and just hearing that "click" - UGGH!! I wonder if she could calm down enough to have the 2nd ear done.

I was 13 when I did mine and it hurt like heck.

Kim I am nervous too that's why I thought get it done while she is young... Tip: have both ears done at the same time that way she wont have to calm down to do the other one....

I love Pearberry and Fresh Vanilla.. mmmm

I had my ears pierced around age 7 and I passed out cold before they even did one ear. They ran for the smelling salts and my mom yelled DO IT WHILE SHE IS OUT!! I am not going to get Lia's ears done, if she wants them done then I will. I cant even keep a bow in her hair, nevermind earrings! My 11 yr old had hers done as well as my 15 yr old a few years ago and they braved it better than I did.

When we were in China I bought two small cloisonne baby bangle bracelets for Lia. They are still too big for her, hopefully in a few years they will fit.
