What are you reading?

I am currently reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See

It is a story set in Nineteenth-century Hunan China. It is a story of a young girl named Lily and her Laotong, or "Old Same". The two girls communicate in a secret language called NuShu. They share their Hopes and Dreams for their future through this secret language. They share their fears, tragedies and trials of life in rural China.

it is a great book and one I would recommend highly.

So what are you reading this summer?

I want to read that book, too!! I took it out at the library but never had a chance to read it and then it was due back because someone had a "hold" on it. I am going to just buy one to read. But first I am going to read this book that Shane bought me called "Forever Lily - An unexpected mother's journey to adoption in China" by Beth Nonte Russell. I haven't started it yet because I'm still reading a Nicholas Sparks book "At First Sight".

Okay, this is getting spooky - a friend of mine just gave me Forever Lily to read.... We'll have our own mini Chinese Book Club!! I'll check what page I am on, I haven't picked it back up this week yet. I think you can buy both of them at Target.

Did you get my email??

Hi Susan

I love the idea of a book club. I got Snow Flower for Christmas from a secret pal and absolutely LOVED the book. I've also been wanting to read Forever Lily. I've started on Wild Swans. Also, Lisa See has a new book coming out in hardback tomorrow, it's called Peony in Love. It looks great, too.
