The Latest from RQ and a VERY! Happy Birthday

"Something is in the airApril 2nd, 2008
A few people have been notified by their agency that something is in the air.
Not enough agencies reporting it yet to give us an idea of cut off from that information just yet."

So, we still don't know for sure about a cutoff date but our gut is telling us we will not see Sophia this month. We had a few hard days and a whole lot of crying, but now we are moving past that. We know we are only weeks away now and that without a doubt we will see Sophia in May. We had taken today off for my sweet hubbies birthday and the next two days just in case we would get the call with our referral. We thought about just going to work since it is not looking like that is going to happen. We decided instead to take the time and relax, regroup and finish the kitchen remodel and maybe even find that Mini Van we have been looking for (yes we are stepping into Mini Van ownership). We want to say congratulations to all our fellow waiting parents who did make the cutoff this month. We are really looking forward to sharing in your joy as you see your little ones for the first time. Thank you to everyone that commented to our blog and sent me private e-mails the love and support you have given us over the last few days (and the last 2 1/2 + years) has been overwhelming. We are so grateful to each and everyone of you, without you this would have been much hard to deal with. We feel very blessed to be part of this wonderful community and to have so many friends who care about us, Sophia will know about each of you. I have to share something very special and very sweet with all of you. I know that if you have been reading our blog you know about our good friend Wendy who lives in Savannah GA. Wendy has 2 beautiful girls who she adopted from China, Kate and Claire. Wendy and the girls have become like part of our family. We have shared many holidays together and hope to share many more. Wendy e-mailed me a simple message today that just said "read my blog today" so I did and what I saw there brought me to tears. Not sad tears but emotional heart felt tears of love, Love for Wendy and her girls. Please go HERE to read Wendy's blog. - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more
Last but not least I want to say to my very sweet husband Happy Birthday. I know that today did not turn out quite the way we had hoped it would but none the less you are already a great DAD. I can't imagine becoming a parent with anyone else in any other way this was how it was meant to be from the beginning. I love you beyond measure and Sophia will love you the same way.

Happy Birthday, Riz!!!

I am still refusing to accept that you will not see Sophia's picture until referrals actually get here-hopefully that will be soon and you will have a wonderful "miracle" and see that sweet baby's face!!!

Lots of hugs and good positive thoughts coming your way!

Susan & Riz,

Don't give up hope until you know absolutely 100% for sure that it's not this never know!! And if for some reason the rumors are right and the cut off is the 9th, then we will all be here for you guys throughout this month as you wait again...but just know that you WILL see Sophia soon and that will be the happiest day of your life!!! The pain of the wait may never truly go away for you, but seeing your daughter's pictures and holding in her arms will make it worth every second of the long wait you've endured!!

Happy Birthday Riz!!

Love you both!!

That Kate is such a sweetie. What is that saying…”out of the mouths of babes”? Still hoping for some sort of April miracle but if it is not meant to be, then you ARE next. Hang in there and enjoy your time off together. Happy B-Day Baba Riz”:)

The post on Wendy's blog was sweet- it is amazing how much kids understand.
I hope the rumors are wrong- but if not-with a LID of the 10th you will be next. I hope the next month just flies by for you.
As for the mini-van- we love our Nissan Quest- it is my favorite car by far (other than my 72 Mustang)We looked at a bunch before we decided.
good luck on your search-
and I have to say- you guys are the most positive people I know!
